Ridin' Around!
Nice pic from Mount Graham a few weeks ago.
Thursday morning "Bum's Run" ..... we took a ride back up to Mt Lemmon with our unemployed and barely employed friends.
The Bums......
Headed up to Sedona Saturday morning. Really beautiful place. Temps were in the mid 50's up in the higher elevations which made it just a little chilly on the bike.
The road from Sedona to Flagstaff is also incredible, with steep climbs, nice switchbacks and awesome views. Temps dropped a little more into the upper 40's.
By the time we got to the Flagstaff hotel, the temp had dropped down to 38, and even further down to 24 later that evening. We left "late" in the morning, waited for temps to rise a bit and then headed towards Winslow, temps started out in upper 40s and quickly climbed to the 60's.
Riding down Interstate 40, we came across a sign that said Meteor Crater, so we took a 6 mile detour and went in for a quick look.
A view of the mountains behind Flagstaff.
At the viewing area of the crater.
Then on to Winslow Arizona. With The Eagles Glen Frey recently passing away, it was away to pay tribute to one of Americas music legends.
From Winslow we decided to head home,we took Rt 87 South, another beautiful road that went from bare desert to lush forests with some snow capped areas, scenic mountain views, and very little traffic for the most part. Unfortunately this is the only picture taken at the very beginning.
-------------------------------------------- THE BUM'S RUN |
With some help, we got up to the very top this time, amazing views from up there.
The ski lifts were running, not sure why, but we went to the Iron Door Restaurant then over to the fudge shop.
