Saturday, June 18, 2016 - Cool-Off Ride

Its supposed to be hot! so we got up early, met up with our neighbors, friends and a few from our club for another ride up the mountain.  Mt Lemmon that is. At the top, the temps were a cool 78 degrees. Grabbed breakfast at the Iron Door and afterwards some people took a free ride on the Ski Valley ski lift, some just walked around and gazzed at the group of Camaros that had just pulled into the parking lot and some just enjoyed the beautiful cooler temps.

A  quick ride down the mountain  where the "Tucson oven" turned back on and the temp went up to 109 deg. The Spaltens' were kind enough to invite us over to cool off in their awesome pool and we gladly obliged. Went over had a great time, they cooked up some nice steaks, a few cocktails  and we had a blast, didn't get home til 9pm.

Friday - June 10 Tucson Rain!

My day off and it rained. It actually rained! I don't remember the last time it rained here in Tucson, well in all honesty it did sprinkle for about 10 minutes on May 14th. But nothing since then. Friday was a different story. We were quietly lounging in the pool, sipping down some refreshing beverages, and then it happened.

Out of nowhere dark, mysterious clouds came thru, the skies darkened then opened up with a few rumbles of thunder, some lightning and RAIN! Rain, rain, rain. It went on and off for a good hour or so. Then it stopped....... and the Tucson dry heat came back.

It's a dry heat........

That's what they say here in AZ, yep its a "dry heat".....well on the way home from work thursday.....
i was on the bike .... it felt kinda warm...... like 105 degrees, but it was a "dry heat"   : )

And this weekend will be HOT!......the rest of the week ain't no better. 

Yet people still ride their bikes, in the early mornings its surprisingly cool, and you need a jacket, even the leather gloves on some days, but by 1pm the heat kicks in and it can get uncomfortable. Our club has 2 rides scheduled this weekend, one saturday and one sunday, I think we will pass on these, they have a real early start time.
