U-turns

Anybody can ride fast and straight, but slow speed turning is what separates the men from the sheep.
Its a fairly simple concept, keep your chin up and turn your head sharply to the direction where you want to go, feather the clutch and a little rear brake, ...NO FRONT BRAKE!!! AGAIN ...NO FRONT BRAKE! touch the front brake and you will be picking up the bike...... Practice, practice, practice........like this guy is doing, and then practice some more. And even when youve go it down pat, you practice every chance you get cause youll lose it quick.

Plant City Biker Fest 5/7/17

Perfect Saturday weather, sunny skies, low humidity, cool air.... sooooo....fuck it, let's ride! While browsing the net I stumbled upon a small bikefest in Plant City about 2 1/2 hrs away from the compound. So we packed up the bike and headed west.

 I had forgotten that Laura's daughter Kayla and her BF Kyle live near the area.

A quick phone call, and they showed up to the "bike" fest ...... on their "10-speeds"....

Much to our surprise, we had arrived way too early, ...holy fuck! who knew? As it turned out the "fest" didn't actualy start till 5pm. To kill time we headed over to the Crab Shack, had some clam strips and refreshments, met up with the siblings and soon the bikes started rollin in and the days events began.

The band played, we browsed the very few vendors, and enjoyed plenty of refreshments...

In a flash he transformed himself into something out of a 60's movie,
like a colorful hallucination you'd see on a bad LSD trip.
The biker crowd loved it, the only other contestant was a blonde woman who tried,
 but she had no chance up against a fierce competitor like Kyle.

Let me show you how it's done blondie.....

And soon the fat lady sang....."AND THE WINNER IS........."

Thats right, Kyle is a huge hit among the biker community and the roar of the crowd made it perfectly clear who the winner would be on this day.

With the extra $25 in hand, we all headed over to Big Dogs Bar for more cocktails and later made our

way to the Silver Dollar Saloon.

It was a perfect weather day, a fun day was had by all, we got a good ride in, and got to hang out with the siblings. Chilly ride home.
The Plant City Bike Fest, now in its 15th year, is held every 3 months, so we may be goin back soon.

I would hire this guy if I ever need a screen repaired!

Our New Nest

The 1900 Sq ft "compound" has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, an in-ground screened-in pool, a separate 2 car garage, and another 2 car man-cave that has a separate room off the back, an upstairs loft and it came with a 2-post car lift out front, which was the icing on the cake. 

The house does need a bit of TLC and updating, but after looking at hundreds of houses that were priced at about 30k more, this was a great deal. Its a double-lot nestled in the corner next to a federal wildlife preserve. No neighbors on our left side or behind us, and the neighbors on our rightside are far enough away that we don't know what they even look like..
